Cheryl Squadrito - Founder of Media Friendly PR

Cheryl’s first professional article was published at age 15 and she was immediately smitten by the news business. All through high school she free-lance wrote for Philadelphia-based music magazines. In college, she interned at Philadelphia Magazine and at the trend-setting music weekly, Melody Maker in London.

After graduating early from Widener University in Chester, Pa. with an English degree, Cheryl landed a suburban correspondent job with The Philadelphia Inquirer. After seven years and 900 bylined stories, Cheryl accepted a position in the features department at the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill.

During her journalism career, Cheryl has covered a variety of news, business and entertainment topics. She has written about the American Dream and Miss America, the Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, U2 and Bruce Springsteen, the Republican National Convention, celebrity chefs, professional sports and much more.

Cheryl knows the news business from the inside.  She knows how to write a press release after many years of responding to the well-written ones and throwing out badly written ones. She knows how to grab the attention of the media and, once you get it, giving reporters what they need for the story. She knows how to coach clients on how to talk to the media.

Cheryl is an active member of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

She is on the executive board of the Haddonfield Friends of the Library as well as the Junior Women's Club of the Haddon Fortnightly. Cheryl is very active at her children's school, Haddonfield Friends School.

Cheryl was a participant in the Rittenhouse Writers Group, an esteemed fiction writers group in Philadelphia. She is working on her first novel, Memoirs of a Suburban Rock Chick.

Residing in Haddonfield, NJ, with her family, Cheryl is a certified Spinning instructor, personal trainer, avid music collector and rock ‘n’ roll trivia aficionado.

Cheryl was recently featured on the front page of the New York Times in a story about working mothers who travel.
